Parents in School

The partnerships we have with our parents play an important role in the success of our school. We enjoy working closely together to support the development of our children and celebrate their successes.

If you would like to be more involved within our school please speak to Mrs Wood; we would love to see you.

Stay and Learn Sessions

Each term, parents are invited into school to work with their child/ren on a range of activities

We like to involve you through:

  • Themed afternoons

Throughout the year we like to invite you into school to spend the afternoon completing fun activities linked to the topic the children are covering. Last year, parents joined us for volcano making, samba celebration and the children in Key Stage 1 performed line dances with their parents - yeehaw!

  • Workshops

We run sessions on RWINc, reading/writing and maths strategies to help you gain a better understanding of the way in which the children are learning in school. These sessions can be information sessions for parents/carers or with the children. We also run yearly updates on E-Safety and how to keep children safe online.

  • Transition Sessions

To help the children settle into their new classroom, we invite both the children and parents to an afternoon of fun with their new class teacher. This gives parents an opportunity to meet their new teacher and to share information, worries and questions. We always have a great time completing activities linked to our new class name.

  • Imagination Library

Each week, parents are invited into our Foundation Unit to share books with their children and to complete lots of lovely activities. Imagination Library started in Nursery and now has been rolled out throughout the foundation stage.

We have completed another successful cycle of FAST

FAST provides support for families and helps to build stronger bonds between parents, schools and communities. The programme consists of an eight-week cycle of activity sessions, as well as help for parents to develop learning at home and ongoing support at school and within the community.FAST helps parents get more involved in their child’s education, so they can support learning and development at home and encourages stronger bonds between parents and their child, their child’s school, other parents and the wider community.
